Bank Robber Eludes Police – Can You Help?

The dreadlocks are a wig, and the happy-face doo rag that topped the suspect's head was just part of the elaborate disguise, authorities report.

Investigators say they now have a better description of the alleged robber of the Fifth-Third Bank, at 601 Indian Rocks Rd. North, in Belleair.

They are asking the public for help.

Detectives say that they now believe that the bank robbery suspect initially  entered the bank on June 21, 2013, which was five days before the robbery.

He was wearing no disguise (see photo). Authorities say that the suspect has a tattoo on his right arm, just below the bottom of his sleeve.

According to Belleair Police, on Wednesday, June 26th, at 10:52 a.m., the suspect entered the bank and gave the teller a note demanding money, but provided no bag.

The teller put the cash on the shelf. The cash contained a dye pack, which the suspect placed in his left pocket as he exited the bank.

The suspect is described as approximately 5'8," with a thin build, wearing a teal, black, and white plaid shirt with a T-shirt underneath and khaki pants.

The suspect had dreadlocks, which appeared to be a wig and was wearing a happy face "doo-rag" on his head.

He was last seen riding a blue or blue and silver bicycle east on Wildwood Road toward the Pinellas Trail.
