Forget the Grand Prix, which roars through St. Petersburg this weekend. If you want to see something really racy, head to Muvico Baywalk 20 for the premiere showing of "Spring Breakers," which was filmed in the Tampa Bay area and shows many familiar Gulf Coast sites. (See movie times below.) If you're expecting a travelogue, you better head to your local library. The movie opened to a limited release Friday, which means you'll have to wait to see it when it's released nationally March 22.
The movie 'Spring Breakers', which was shot at various places in the Tampa Bay area, including Corey Avenue and at the Gulfport Police Department, opened in limited release Friday to mostly positive reviews. According to the site Rotten Tomatoes, which compiles the average of 'fresh' and 'rotten' reviews, has certified 'Spring Breakers' as fresh with 70 percent positive reviews. We've found what we believe are a few key locations in the new Spring Breakers trailer.
'Spring Breakers', starring James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez is coming out in March and it'll be interested how much familiar scenery will be in the film. If the trailer is any indication, many of the locales will look familiar. We've gone through and gotten a few screencaps of areas that are clearly spots on the beach and closeby. The new film starring James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez has released it's first trailer.
Interested in seeing the new 'Spring Breakers' film in March? You can get a sneak peek of what the film will look like in the newly released trailer. While not a red-band trailer (trailers with extreme graphic content), the preview shows the darker side of what the movie will be featuring. 'Spring Breakers' was shot in the area and includes many of the recognizable beach landmarks in the trailer, such as the Redington Long Pier and the St. Pete Beach Theater. The movie is slated for a wide release across the country on March 29th.

The locally shot movie will have a trailer released on Thursday at 7 a.m. and is set for wide release on March 29.
Last year in March, the beaches of Pinellas County were filled celebrities like Selena Gomez, James Franco and Vanessa Hudgens filming 'Spring Breakers'. In a few months, you'll be able to go and see all the local areas on the big screen. 'Spring Breakers' has been set for wide release on March 29, almost a year after they finished filming in Tampa Bay. The film will also be releasing it's first trailer on MTV news this Thursday according to the film's twitter account. The story of the film is set to revolve around a drug dealer, played by Franco, who bails a group of girls on spring break out of jail. He then demands that they kill his rival.

The Gulfport Police Department is the latest backdrop for the movie "Spring Breakers."
Rumor has it, James Franco is rocking dreadlocks in the film "Spring Breakers." Franco and Selena Gomez were spotted Tuesday morning in Gulfport at the Gulfport Police Department. The sealed off parking lot seemed to be the perfect fit for a police station backdrop. This is the second time the crew has filmed at the Gulfport Police Department. Last Tuesday, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson shot scenes inside the department.

The caper, starring Selena Gomez, will have some more filming today of extras who will go topless. The film shoot is taking place somewhere on the Gulf beaches.
The new Selena Gomez and James Franco film looks like it might be baring a bit of flesh. A casting call for extras has noted that the crew is looking for women who will appear topless in the film. This is the second time the crew has been looking for topless extras, with women offered $150 to take off their shirts during last Wednesday's shooting. As of right now, it's uncertain where the crew will be setting up, but the call for extras mentions party scenes, rather than a single scene. Producers for the Selena Gomez film offered $150 to extras to appear topless.
Selena Gomez and her "Spring Breakers" co-stars may be known for the Disney roles, but the film is looking to be a little more adult. Producers offered $150 to extras if they will appear topless during filming today, according to an article from ABC Action News. Hundreds of extras and fans showed up to the filming at the Coral Reef Resort in St. Pete Beach yesterday. Security guards were stationed at both the entrance and exit to the set to make sure that no one got in who wasn't supposed to. Would you agree to appear topless in the film for $150? I would hate for others to believe this movie is a reflection of our community in St. Pete Beach. Thiis violence and law breaking behaviors is not the role model that our youth need or deserve. I would encourage the public to protest this movie. more ›
