One of the biggest additions to Beach Snoballs’ lineup is the addition of the spiked snoball, a flavored snoball with up to three shots of tequila, vodka or rum. The spiked snoballs have been around since mid-April, but the team at Beach Snoballs believes that the addition of alcohol will help bring in a more varied crowd. “Now we’ve got something for the parents, so they can come and hang out on the beach and get a snoball,” said Morgan Wujkowski, co-owner of Beach Snoballs. Snoballs Freezes Out the Competition

The flavored shaved ice place wins the Patch Customer Service contest.

From banana to cherry, Beach Snoballs offers 55 flavors of shaved ice. The dessert shack on Treasure Island is an oasis from the sun and sand, a cool respite popular with locals and tourists. Readers could not agree more: "On a hot day, snoballs are a great treat!" says reader and unabashed fan Ann Sweitzer. "The flavors are so much fun. I want to keep going back until I've tried all of them! Catcus Juice is next on my list!" Reader Joe …

Bright Businesses

Beach Snoballs Is a Tropical Destination

With ambitious owners, top-shelf ingredients and unmatched customer service, Beach Snoballs is a business force to be reckoned with on the Pinellas Beaches.

They were immediately drawn to the icy cool treats that were served up, New Orleans style. “We were hooked from the first snoball because the ice is shaved to a powder, so it's soft and velvety,” said Howat. Now, less than three years later, Howat and Wujkowski own the joint known as Beach Snoballs. Howat is a graduate of Ferris State University with a Masters in Business Administration while Wujkowski earned her Bachelor’s from the University of Michigan. When the two started dating several years ago, they say that they never imagined owning a business together. In 2010, the duo made their annual trip to Treasure Island. …
