AVP St. Pete Open Qualification Tournament This Weekend

Everyone is invited to come out to Gulfport Beach this weekend and watch teams go head to head to make it in the AVP St. Pete Open on Sept. 13 - 15.

Stop by Gulfport Beach this weekend as volleyball players from around the globe compete in the AVP Gulfport Qualifier on Saturday and Sunday. 

Matches begin Saturday at 9 a.m. Gulfport City Vice Mayor Dan Liedtke will be participating in the tournament, come out and cheer him on!

According to Liedtke's Facebook page, " Athlete registration numbers have exceeded expectations with some players coming from as far away as Europe."

The qualification format is Single elimination to qualify the final four teams. Four (4) men's teams and four (4) women's teams will advance from Gulfport Beach to compete in the St. Pete Open next weekend.

The Main Draw tournament will take place in St. Pete, Sept. 13-15. The format is a 16 team Double Elimination with 10 automatic berths, 2 wildcards, and four (4) teams from the Gulfport Qualifier.
