Romeo’s tip of the week: Try something fun and/or quirky. But keep it simple — no stress.

'Word of mouth' recommendations by friends and family help businesses build new customers. Posts by Romeo, the little black dog.

Hello everyone,

What a great week this has been for me!
As you already know from reading my blogs, I love going to the dog park. This week I made a new friend, which is always exciting. I really have a lot of fun running and playing with all of my pals, and I feel sad when it rains and I can’t go.

I’m so lucky that my Momma knows about the dog park, but I wonder how she found out about it. Maybe she read about it or saw an advertisement about it. Maybe a friend told her about taking their dog here and what a beautiful and safe park it is. I bet that’s how she learned of it! Isn’t that what people call “word of mouth”?

Maybe that’s one way for a business owner to get the word out about their company. People trust the word and opinions of family and friends best of all. That’s something the team at Little Black Dog Social Media & More would know a lot about (they’re experts, after all).

As much fun as I had at the dog park this week, there’s something else I’d like to share with you. A local pet store held its first annual Halloween costume contest for pets. My momma dressed me up in my pirate costume, and my pal Hunter (who went with us) dressed up like a sheriff, with cowboy hat, bandana and yes, even a sheriff’s badge. It was fun looking at all the different costumes. All the pets’ humans, as well as the employees, seemed to be getting a real kick out of it.

What a great stress reliever for them! Oh, and the exciting part of it was that I won!!! And guess what? Hunter came in second place. They gave us both treat bags, and I also got a gift card for my momma to pick out something special for me….maybe some more pig ears!

I hope everyone’s week was as terrific as mine was!

My tip this week: try doing something fun and/or quirky. But keep it simple — no stress. You’ll feel great then and each time it comes back to mind.

Hi, Romeo. Great costume! You deserved to win. You are a very lucky dog to have such fun things to do with your pals! Enjoy your week, but stick with the healthy treats; don't touch any dropped Halloween candy.
