Treasure Island Trail to Receive $48,000 in Refurbishing

The Treasure Island City Commission voted to spend $48,000 to refurbish a 500-foot section of the Central Beach Trail.

Parts of the Central Beach Trail in Treasure Island are going to start looking better soon.

The Treasure Island City Commission voted to spend $48,000 to refurbish a 500-foot section of the Central Beach Trail, according to TBN Weekly.

The 500 foot stretch that vote concerned was the part of the trail in front of the beach owned by St. Petersburg.

Before the vote, commissioners debated spending the money for the refurbishment because of the cost for the 500 feet in front of a beach that isn't Treasure Island.

The refurbishment will replace and repair the concrete in that area.

With this vote, the entirety of the trail will have a unified appearance. the entire project cost is estimated at $1.23 million.

The trail is presently under construction and runs from 103rd to 119th Avenues.
