New Park in Indian Rock Remains Unnamed

The unnamed park at Walsingham and Gulf Boulevard is still nameless after a proposal for a name was turned down.

The name for the park at Walsingham Road and Gulf Boulevard has yet to find a find a name, according to the Belleair Bee.

The Indian Rocks Beach City Commission was asked to consider naming the park after former IRB Mayor, Jim Driscoll.

While current Mayor R.B. Johnson agreed Driscoll was an important member of the community, he was wary to name a park after a politician.

The commission agreed with Johnson and the park remains without a name. 

Currently, there are two parks in Indian Rocks Beach named after people, Kolb and Brown Park. Both of the namesakes for the parks were donaters of land to the city.
