If you've gone over the John's Pass Bridge lately, you've probably noticed new flags on the Madeira Beach side.
Madeira Beach has put up banners on the John's Pass Bridge in an effort to build the brand of Madeira Beach, according to an article from the Beach Beacon.
Madeira Beach Commissioner Terry Lister has pushed for the branding because of perceived confusion between the city limits of the different beaches.
The banners on the bridge are on every pole on the Madeira Beach side. They read "Welcome to the City of Madeira Beach" on one side and "Thank you for visiting City of Madeira Beach" on the other.
Beach accesses and bus shelters are scheduled to be branded with the Madeira Beach logo as well.
