U.S.19 DUI Check This Weekend

All southbound traffic will go through the overnight checkpoint. Find out the details.

It's never a good idea to drink and drive. Those who take the risk this weekend may very well find out just how bad it can be.

The Belleair Police are joining several other agencies to support St. Petersburg Police officers conducting a massive DUI/Safety Point check on U.S. 19. All southbound traffic on 34 Street North (U.S. Highway 19) will be diverted
into the check point

The checkpoint goes into action Friday, Dec. 14, at 10:30 p.m. It ends at 4 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15.

The DUI/Safety Point operation will take place in the parking lot of the
Publix Supermarket, 1700 34th Street North, St. Petersburg.

Several local law enforcement agencies will assist during the operation,
including the Florida Highway Patrol, Pinellas County Sheriff's Office,
Gulfport Police Department, Kenneth City Police Department, Pinellas Park
Police Department and the Belleair Police Department.

During the operation, the St. Petersburg Department will utilize the fully
equipped Chevrolet Tahoe awarded to the Department's DUI Unit by the Florida
Department of Transportation and the Florida Public Safety Institute for their
exemplary efforts in DUI enforcement.

The Chevrolet Tahoe with it's "Over the Limit - Under Arrest" markings also serve as a visual reminder to drivers and encourage everyone to refrain from drinking and driving during the holiday season.
