Libertarian Party of Pinellas County hosts Dr. Karen Effrem of The Florida Stop Common Core Coalition

In the effort to present expert speakers on timely and important topics in our community, the Libertarian Party of Pinellas County is hosting The Florida Stop Common Core Coalition leadership at this month's meeting.

The meeting will be held at the Datex Center, 10320 49th Street N, Clearwater on September 26, 2013 from 6pm until 8:30pm.  Pinellas County residents of all political affiliations are invited to enjoy Homemade Beef Stew dinner from 6pm until the meeting starts at 7pm.  Invite your friends and neighbors who may not be fully aware of the impact that the full implementation of Common Core State Standards will have on our local schools. It's not too late to learn more about how our community can effectively coalesce on this issue with groups across Florida.

The Florida Stop Common Core Coalition is a rapidly growing, statewide organization that has united parents, grandparents, teachers, small business owners, and concerned citizens from many points on the political, religious, and philosophical spectra.  This coalition is united in their opposition to the Common Core system of standards, tests, and data collection because that system will harm the quality of education in Florida, violate our children's, families', and teacher's privacy rights, deny state sovereignty and local control, and be unsustainably expensive.

Dr. Karen Effrem is a pediatrician, researcher, and conference speaker.  Dr. Effrem's medical degree is from Johns Hopkins University and her pediatric training from the University of Minnesota. She has provided testimony for Congress, as well as in-depth analysis of numerous pieces of major federal education, health, and early childhood legislation for congressional staff, state legislatures, and many organizations. Dr. Effrem serves on the boards of two national organizations: Education Liberty Watch and the Alliance for Human Research Protection.  She is a member of The International Society for Ethical Psychiatry and Psychology.  She has spoken at numerous state and national conferences. The Libertarian Party of Pinellas County is honored to present this educational opportunity to the residents of Pinellas County.
