The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Madeira Beach offers this safe boating class the first Saturday of each month. This class is for anyone who owns a boat, wants to buy a boat or who is a guest onboard a boat. Topics cover navigation rules, what to do in an emergency, FL state and federal regulations, how to tie knots, mooring your boat, some first aid, what to do in case of fire, channel markers and a lot more. This is a one day class with an hour for lunch. Anyone born on or after Jan1, 1988 must have a valid boating certificate to operate a vessel of 10HP or more. It's the law in Florida!
