Does anyone know the aproximate size of this ship and how many people it holds, etc? tks
Leigh Armstrong August 20, 2012 at 04:09 PM
The boat is three stories and 200 ft. long. It's supposed to hold 500 passengers. It looks pretty big to me!

I plan to board the ship on Saturday 8/25/12. Do I need to make a reservation or something? Cindy cpio4@tampabay.rr.com
Cindy Pio August 24, 2012 at 02:36 AM
Please let me know if I need a reservation
Leigh Armstrong August 24, 2012 at 03:36 AM
It would be wise to make one. You don't have to put any money down when you do.
CJ August 24, 2012 at 08:01 PM
Thanks. That info was perfect...sounds like a lot of fun just to ride it. Do you have to gamble on it?

The Epicurian Fare will be of import to many locals. Any notice in the Food Service on the Vendor(s) or Staff ?
CJ August 26, 2012 at 04:34 PM
...what did you just ask...lol? Are you saying they are going to have great food on it? Sorry, but it sounded like you were saying they are serving horse meat.

I would love to go on this ship. I will be going on soon. I would like to know where to purchase tickets
Leigh Armstrong August 29, 2012 at 04:40 PM
The ticket booth is right next to the parking garage in Johns Pass.

Shuttle Buses?
CJ August 30, 2012 at 03:55 PM
I think there are already various buses that go to the St John's Pass area...once there...the walk to where you board the Casino cruise is just a very short walk.
CJ August 30, 2012 at 04:04 PM
...sorry...my bad...I just looked up epicurian...guess I was thinking of equestrian..lol Horse meat has been in the news lately, due to many world cultures who eat it like we do beef...and many stores have mentioned they may start selling it. I think I will stick to the usual such as beef, pork, chicken, fish, etc.
Harold Driver August 31, 2012 at 05:11 PM
Can't park there, way too crowded. Where will the shuttle buses operate?
Debi M October 10, 2012 at 06:00 PM
I am interested in any shuttle service also. We have a group that would love to go, but we are staying at the Sheraton Sand Key in Clearwater and not sure how to get there and back.

I would not recommend this ship to anyone. My husband and I went on this cruise this past week. We attempedt to go on Tuesday but were told they cancelled due to weather, attempted to go on Wednesday only to board eat (horrible food) and be told we had to disembark the ship, came back on Thursday to again board, eat (horrible food again) and then told to disembark again due to mechanical problems. Came back on Friday finally get to leave dock to have the boat crash into the dock and part of the boat fall into the ocean. Not sure what is going on with these people but this is the most disorganized company ever! I would be really careful about going on this boat, with all the mechanical problems, and captain not being able to drive the boat, you are risking your life! (We watched the boat leave from John's Pass again on Saturday night only to watch the captain back it into the bridge) I will be telling everyone I know not to ever go there. By the way the staff is very rude from the ticket staff all the way to the managers. Customer service skills they do not have.

Mal. When I made my ealier posts here, we had not taken the cruise yet. We have taken one now, and simply can't see how your claims are true. You should never hold it against a ship for cancelling due to weather. Are you serious? You should be glad the Captian was looking out for your safety. As for the mishaps you spoke of...I think you should cut them some slack. That is a very big ship for the very confined area they dock at. You must have just had bad luck, but that is no reason to make such bad comments about the ship. We thought the food was fine and the people were very wonderderful and it looked like everyone on board was having a very good time, Have you forgot what a tremendosu low priced bargain this is? What are you expecting for the prices they charge? Due to you comment about the food and the service...i think you are just a liar. Just being honest...
Adam Campbell April 08, 2013 at 03:25 PM
Mal, I agree with everything you've said and it appears to me CJ is likely an employee..The Captain wrecks the boat and parts are falling off, but cut the captain some slack? WOW! The food tasted like it was from a can and the staff was for the most part very rude, especially the women..mainly the blonde stumpy hobbit looking lady from the ticket office and the cage attendant. Mal, i think the repeat posters on here are the liars...kind of odd they check this site so frequently to post responses to others so quickly. Seems as tacky as the actions of the employees. In all fairness the slot attendant was very pleasant and kind, Security guards had nice personalities as well.

This place is a rip off! They attempt to take your money when u actually have won in black jack and watch what the max bets are. They will change the max bet in the middle of the hand and not honor your bet. Place is a scam!
CJ May 23, 2013 at 12:02 AM
Their slots are not too generous, either...however we ''were'' UP at one time and pushed it....but that seems to be the way slots go, eh? We should have taken our money when it was there to take. It so happened that we played the slots and had over $200 in winnings (over and above what we had into it) we could have cashed in on...but it happened the first 15 minutes we played. I always hate it when that happens because I never have the sense to quit quite ''that'' early...lol. Does anyone?
CJ May 23, 2013 at 12:14 AM
Adam. Most people here could tell you I am not an employee...I am just a local who often likes to compliment our fine area we live in...rather than only being negative. I enjoy participating in the local Patch articles. That said...your criticism is ''somewhat'' reasonable from your point of view and experience...but overall you are too harsh in your comments based on what a bargain this activity is. Your experience is obviously not typical of most others that have been on this cruise. As as far as your silly comment about me or others checking the site often simply to make responces....???...that simply shows you are new to Patch blogs and don't realize there is automatic email notification when someone like yourself adds a comment. Then again, you could simply be a d/bag.

Visiting for the week and looking for some entertainment. Anyone know the details of the blackjack games on board? I like to play but don't like automatic shufflers where they put every hand into the shuffler and there's never a break in play (the other type of shuffler where the entire shoe is swapped out for a new shuffled shoe is okay).
CJ January 10, 2014 at 10:15 PM
Sam...Don't go on this boat for some serious gambling. You can have some fun doing it on this boat...but remember....this is mainly just a boat ride out and back that has nice music, some decent food, great views, ocean air...all at a bargain price...and some light gambling fun where if you get lucky...then you are really lucky. The boat trip is not really all that long. If you are visiting the area and want to ''really'' gamble. Drive over to Tampa and go to The Hardrock.
