Seabird Sanctuary Employees Say Donations Disappeared

Former employees of the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary are saying that founder Ralph Heath took donations without accounting for it.

The Seabird Sanctuary has been hitting some hard times financially, but former employees say that founder Ralph Heath might be making the situation worse.

Former employees of the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary said that  Heath took money from the donation boxes, according to TBO.com.

One employee found Heath taking money out of the donation boxes during a time when the employees weren't being paid.

Another former employee who worked at Heath's beach house for extra money claimed to find four or five shoeboxes full of small bills.

The former chief fundraiser, Michelle Simoneau, said she had restricted access to certain donation boxes that Heath collected from.

A former volunteer, Bambi Foy, claimed that Heath took the money from the donation boxes home with him and spends it on himself.

I never thought I'd say this, but Heath is an "SOB" & should be shot. First, however, legal action must be taken against this scuzball.

Agreed. Its sad the employees and animals are paying for his actions and there is no guarantee he can be kept from misusing any more donations.

Just when the sanctuary needs the most help, it gets torn down by this scandal. Many donors will feel reluctant to give. This is unforgivable.

Movement for change at Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary - Educate yourself on why SSS is and always has been in financial trouble. Everything is on one site to do so. From the giant yacht "whisker" and the beach house bought with donated money to the warehouse holding donated boats, cars and hundreds of animals to the underage girls being photographed wearing barely nothing on SSS property, non-payment of workers, labor board investigation, tax liens and it all points to one person only...Ralph Heath. Educate yourself and help us save the sanctuary from this madness. We DO NOT want it to close, just want new, honest, transparent leadership. http://suncoastseabird.com/ https://www.facebook.com/SeabirdSanctuary
