The talent lineup for Bands
on the Sand brings together an unprecedented gathering of Florida musicians,
including Cope, Steve Arvey Horn Band, Funky Seeds, Have Gun Will Travel, Human
Condition, Sunza Beaches, Sarah Mac Band, Hubb Tones, Sound Parlor, Jubal’s
Kin, The Exchange, and Shoeless Soul. Scheduled over Memorial Day Weekend 2012
(Saturday, May 26 & Sunday, May 27), Bands on the Sand 4 turns Treasure
Island’s famed  festival-sized beach into
party central for the huge two-day beach concert.

“The stars have truly
aligned for Bands on the Sand 4,” said Cathy Hayduke, Treasure Island’s Parks
& Recreation Director. “The powerhouse combination of so many
headliner-quality acts, a ‘let the good times roll’ audience, and the laid-back
atmosphere of our gulf front community, make Bands on the Sand the only place
to be on Memorial Day Weekend.”

Headlining at 7pm on
Saturday is the Steve Arvey Horn Band,
featuring the superb electric blues guitarist and his fluidly funky band. Bradenton’s
Have Gun, Will Travel bring
their hooky Americana songs to the stage at 5:15pm. Sunza Beaches, whose fans shout out the titles of
their favorite "Sunza Songs" and sing along in their outdoor voices,
play at 3:30pm. The Hubb Tones,
featuring the searing guitar work of Jerry Outlaw, take the stage at 2pm.
Multi-instrumentalists and Beatles fanatics Sound Parlor, who have cultivated a sound that's
impressively beyond their years (they’re all teenagers) play at 1pm, and The Exchange opens the whole shebang at
noon with arena-rock and roll.

With fiery guitar,
blistering sax and keys, thumpin’ bass and monster drums winding thru every
music genre, Tampa Bay jamband masters Cope
headline Bands on the Sand 4 at 7pm on Sunday. Funky Seeds smokes the beach at 5:15pm
with reggae grooves, funk, blues and Latin jazz. The Human Condition plays roots rock 'n' roll
at 3:30pm, and Tallahassee’s Sarah Mac Band plays
laid-back jam-pop beginning at 2pm. The Appalachian-infused cosmic Americana of
Longwood’s Jubal’s Kin sweetens the
air at 1pm, and the feel-good jazz/reggae of Shoeless Soul kicks off day two of the festival at noon Sunday.

Now
in its fourth year, Bands on the Sand rocks the beach at 104th and
Gulf Boulevard, behind the Bilmar Beach Resort in Treasure Island. The 9-hour festival,
produced by the City of Treasure Island Parks & Recreation Department, also
includes dozens of arts and crafts vendors, a fireworks display at 8:50 on May
26th, and plenty of food and drink.
