Three Great Ways to Help Animals

Beau, the abused puppy whose story got media attention this week, reminds me of the power we have online to reach people and ask for support for the animals.

Thank you, Patch.com, for covering so many stories from our community.

Thanks, Nora for the attention given to feral cats. I know that Pinellas county (unlike Hillsborough county) has vocal groups who oppose a trap, neuter, release approach to feral cat colonies. I hope this event helps those in Pinellas who are working with feral cats. The cost seems more than reasonable for the services you are providing, however, more cats could be reached with more community support. Thanks to SPCA for this event as well as the microchip one.

Do not only microchip our furbabies, educate non-pet owners about how they work so they will know to take found animals in to be scanned.

The two dogs are Chico and Gingi and they need a new home. Chico is a 6 year old blond male Chihuahua and Gingi is a 5 year old female Brindle Chihuahua. They are BFFs who have been together almost their whole lives. Adopt them at SPCA Tampa Bay, 9099 130th Avenue North in Largo. Children in the home should be 10+ years as these two have never been around small children. Spread the word!

Sign the petition! After years of Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return (TNVR) making a significant difference in reducing the number of cats and kittens euthanized in Hillsborough County we are in serious danger of witnessing TNVR being outlawed in Hillsborough County. Anyone can sign the petition... visit www.tampacatcrusaders.org to learn more.
