The Lighted Boat Parades on the Beaches

With lots of waterways, there are lots of lighted boat parades to see this year.

There are some big parades held across the county in honor of the holidays. The beaches put their own unique spin on the holiday parade by having them on the water.

These are three bigger lighted boat parades happening between Pass-A-Grille and Sand Key.

St Pete Beach Lighted Boat Parade: St. Pete Beach's parade will be going on Friday, December 7, at 6 p.m. starting at the Blind Pass Bridge and ending at the Bayway Bridge. There will be a watch party at Horan Park with live music, crafts and a visit from Santa.

For information on how to enter a boat, contact the St Pete Beach Recreation Department at (727) 363-9245. There are cash prizes available and entry is free.

Indian Rocks Beach Holiday Boat Parade: The Indian Rocks Beach parade starts at 7 p.m. Saturday, December 15, at the Holiday Inn Harbourside and ends off Harbor Drive North.

For information on the parade or to sign up to participate, call Randy Schwab at (727) 595-6889, Monday thru Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Treasure Island Lighted Boat Parade: The Treasure Island parade in December 8 and starts at 6:20 p.m. at The Club at Treasure Island and finishes at John's Pass around 8:15 p.m.

Redington Beach/Indian Shores annual lighted boat parade: The combined Redington Beach and Indian Shores parade is Sunday, December 23, starting at 6 p.m. from Tom Stuart Causeway and following the intracoastal to finish at The Pub in Indian Shores.

Call Redington Shores Town Hall at (727) 397-5538 for more information. There is no entry fee for participating in the parade.

There is also one Dec 8 in the Vinoy Park area. It benefits the Children's Dream Fund, and is sponsored by Bruce Watters Jeweler's. There will be other entertainment, food, beverages, etc. The event is 3-10 pm, and the boat parade starts at 6 pm.
