St. Pete Beach Storm Damage: $1.5 Million
The St. Pete Beach City Commission estimated the cost of the storm damage at around $1.5 million.
The St. Pete Beach City Commission met on Tuesday to discuss the damage that had been done by Tropical Storm Debby.
City Manager Mike Bonfield noted that most of the damages occured in the Pass-A-Grille where the tornado came through.
Repairs are estimated to cost roughly $1.5 million.
Roughly 30-40 properties recieived structural damage, the majority of that being in Pass-A-Grille.
Wastewater systems received very little damage in the storm. There were a few manhole covers that received damage.
City facilities fared well with only routine leaks existing that were expected in a heavy storm.
The city is planning to have everything cleaned up by next week for the Fourth of July. Waste Services Inc. will be working extra shifts during the weekend to make things cleaned up.
Beach and street clean-up will continue throughout the week.
