Sheriff Coming to St. Pete Beach on Jan. 6

The Pinellas County Sheriff will be taking over jurisdiction of St. Pete Beach on the 6th.

The switchover from St. Pete Beach to the Pinellas County Sheriff will take place Jan. 6.

Most of the 24 local police officers will work for the Sheriff's Office after the shutdown, but they will no longer be serving in St. Pete Beach.

Do you think the move over will be a good one? Do you think the Sheriff will do a better job than the St. Pete Beach police? Let us know in the comments!

I think it is a great idea. I just finished the Pinellas County Sheriff's Citizens Academy, and was very impressed with Sheriff Gualtieri and the entire staff.
