Quiet Man Dies and Leaves $4 Million to Belleair
Not many knew John J. Osborne in Belleair, but he willied $4 million in stocks to the city of Belleair.
While not many people could remember John J. Osborne before the 79-year-old passed away, the city of Belleair will remember him for his generosity.
Osborne passed away on September 6 and left nearly $4 million in stocks to the city of Belleair, according to an article from Tampabay.com.
Officials of Belleair were shocked and didn't know Osborne. They remembered that Osborne came to the city's building department to look up properties.
Besides leaving behind the stocks, Osborne left behind little else.
City commissioners are still unsure of what to do with the money but are considering using $3.5 million for the purchase of the Belleview Biltmore's golf course on Indian Rocks Road, which was approved by the commission.
Osborne is survived by his sister, Jeanne Artzt, in East Setauket, N.Y.
