Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Mimi's a Small Pitbull with a Big Heart

Mimi is a playful pocket pit in search of a home!

Mimi has been at Pinellas County Animal Shelter, 12450 Ulmerton Road  Largo, FL 33774, for around three months.

Mimi is a smaller pitbull, commonly known as a "Pocket Pit". Don't let her small size fool you though, she's got the same amount of love to give as any of the bigger dogs! Mimi is super affectionate and would fit perfectly in with any family looking for a dog.

How to Adopt

Mimi is ready to go to her forever home. Adoption costs $35 and includes the first set of shots, spaying or neutering, a collar and leash, a bag of food and a toy for the dog. We've attached an adoption form (PDF) to make it easy.

Adopt Mimi, and we will feature your photo with your new pet on Patch, too!

How to Help

If you can't adopt, but still want to help, Animal Servces always needs volunteers.

Contact Kelli Becraft at kbecraft@co.pinellas.fl.us for more information.

If you want to see other animals available for adoption, Pinellas County Animal Services will be having an event at the Animal Services this Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. showcasing some adorable pets.

Patch also will host an event at the shelter next month. Check back next week for the next installment of Adoptables at Risk and learn more about it!

We still have Adoptables at Risk who need good homes. Paisely, Paris and Missy all are still looking for that forever home.  Each week that an Adoptable at Risk isn't adopted, we'll keep listing them!

About this column: Patch has partnered with Pinellas County Animal Services to bring our readers Adoptables at Risk, a weekly column that highlights dogs and cats that have overstayed at the county shelter and are in immediate need of a forever home. The shelter has limited space and must get pets adopted in a timely manner to free up kennels. Related Topics: Adoptables at Risk

Suggestion....you need to put the address of where we can go view these pets...we are new here, and looking for a pet...and that is just an observation I made. Also...the video did not load up completely. It got to the sentence where you say: ''My favorite thing about Mimi is that...'' (then the video just ends). this ad/video, and of course cute little Mimi, caught our attention...but we were a little bewildered to see that the video stopped suddenly...and especially the fact there was no address where Mimi is , so we could go see her. We would all certainly like to know your favorite thing about Mimi...lol!

CJ, I'm sorry about the trouble on the address. That has been changed now and Animal Services is located at 12450 Ulmerton Road Largo, FL 33774.

As far as the video loading goes, I'm looking into it right now and will let you know what I find out. I would recommend trying another browser as well. That sometimes helps.

Let me know if you decide to adopt!

I just spotted your reply, and had already figured out how to track down where the shelter is located. I have even been up there twice, and will be adopting soon. So far, both our choices we were looking into got adopted before we saw the dogs. My advice to people is to act fast! The good thing is that for every dog you like that gets adopted by someone else first, there is always another one that needs a good home just as bad. Your weekly articles on some of the dogs is a very kind and useful service. Thank you for the reply.
