Burglars Terrorize Family Pet

But the homeowner's surveillance cameras caught the suspects on tape. Now Florida authorities are asking the public for help. Have you seen these men?

Deputies in Seminole County, Florida, are asking for the help of Tampa Bay residents in identifying the suspects who burglarized a Longwood home and terrorized the family's pet.

The residents returned to find their home ransacked and Lilly, their dog, missing.

The 3-year-old pitbull dog returned the next morning, a sheriff's spokeswoman said, "scared and covered with welts."

Lilly was treated by a veterinarian and is expected to recover.

The Sheriff's Office said a home surveillance camera filmed the burglars "taunting the dog and throwing a large object at her."

Deputies released images of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477 or the Sheriff's Office at 407-665-6650.  Credit: Laura Curry Dyer

After reading this article, all of the negative publicity about pitbulls should be out the door. It's too bad none of the intruders got viciously mauled, which was what was supposed to happen right? Obviously the owners of Lilly did something right with their dog being that it wasn't bred for fighting, etc. Still, I wish that dog would've taken them out though. Justice will prevail, I hope.

Chip, good comment! I have a neighbor who has the sweetest most loving Pit bull in the world. She is so sweet I let my 2 Yorkies play with her without any fear that she would ever hurt them. If anything they take advantage of her sweet disposition

These guys are so busted. They will be caught. To the home owner: great job having a surveillance system that worked so good. Just an observation, but these two guys look like they could be brothers, no pun intended. Hope your dog shakes this off and is back to normal soon.
