St. Pete Beach Named the Best Beach by Trip Advisor: If you want to take a vacation to the best beach in the country, find a local hotel and do a stay-cation. St. Pete Beach was named the best beach destination in the United States by Trip Advisor.

Sand Key Nourishment Beginning This Month: Nourishment of the beaches of Sand Key is slated to begin later this month and the plans will be presented this week. Belleair Beach Community Center will be hosting an open forum with Pinellas County Coastal Manager Andy Squires and staff from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers this Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Selena Gomez in Florida: Teen celebrity Selena Gomez continues her cinematic romp in southwest Florida. The singing and TV star will be on the big screen in the caper, "Spring Breakers." The movie is filming in Sarasota and on the Pinellas Beaches. Rumor has it that Gomez is staying at a private residence in St. Petersburg, with the 19-year-old spotted at shops in Tampa Bay.
