Beach Fun and Games Brings Arcade Action to John's Pass

Tina Sullivan, owner of Beach Fun and Games, is looking to tailor the new arcade to what people want to play and see.

On the upper floor of the John’s Pass Village in the middle of the shopping district, there’s a business designed to let everyone bring out their inner child.

Tina Sullivan opened up Beach Fun and Games opened up in March of 2012 when she saw that John’s Pass Village was missing something.

“The John’s Pass Village needs an arcade.  It needs a place where the kids can come and play,” Sullivan said.

Kids can hang out at the arcade while parents do have fun doing some shopping, without worrying about their children getting into trouble. Kids can spend tokens, win ticket and get prizes while their parents can enjoy their time at John's Pass.

While the arcade attracts the eyes of the youths in John’s Pass, most of Sullivan’s clientele has been adults.

“It’s a stress relief for everyone,” Sullivan said.

Beach Fun and Games has 30 game systems that span a variety of newer and older games.

Among the games she has right now, the most popular games she has are the classic arcade machines of skee-ball and air hockey.

Her third most popular machine is Dance Dance Revolution Supernova and rhythm game played by stomping your feet on colored arrows to the beat of a song.

“(The Dance Dance Revolution Supernova) is the only one around, that I know of,  other than Bradenton,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan is continuing to invest in the arcade to get more machines and games to grow the arcade and bring the customers what they want. She’s currently only using half of her useable 3000 square feet.

“I’m currently looking for some pinball machines because I’ve had some people who have interest in that,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan is planning on partnering with Delosa’s Pizzeria to do parties, so visitors can eat and have fun playing games as well.

Beach Fun and Games is looking to create a fun time for anyone, no matter how old they are.

“It’s a bonding experience for parents and kids, for couples. No matter what age they are,” Sullivan said.

Beach Fun and Games is open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. everyday, except Tuesday.

They’re currently having a special and if you say you saw the article on Patch, you’ll get $5 worth of tokens with a purchase of $10.
