Patch Minute: Bands on the Sand, Backyard BBQ

Welcome to this week's Patch Minute! We have some awesome free events going on in Treasure Island and downtown St. Pete.
The fourth annual Bands on the Sand event has expanded this year to two full days. The even is Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27 from 12 p.m. - 9 p.m. both days. The event is free and will feature 12 bands including:
- Steve Arvey Horn Band
- Have Gun Travel
- Sunza Beaches
- Hubb Tones
- Sound Parlor
- The Exchange
- Cope
- Funky Seeds
- Human Condition
- Sarah Mac Band
- Jubals Kin
- Shoeless Soul
There will be fireworks on Saturday night at 8:45 p.m. behind The Bilmar. The event is at 104th and Gulf Blvd, but people can park on the beach for $10; enter at 112th Avenue & Gulf Boulevard. In downtown St. Pete, everyone is invited to the annual 97X Backyard BBQ at Vinoy Park on Saturday, May 26. Gates open at 11 a.m. The event is free but you have to have a ticket to enter. Tickets are available at several locations including Knology locations in Pinellas Park and Oldsmar. For complete locations check 97XOnline.
