5 Things to do Memorial Day Weekend
From a youth fishing tournament to the 3rd annual Paddle Against Cancer fundraiser, there's plenty to do this Memorial Day Weekend. Check out our list for ideas!
Youth Fishing Tournament: The 17th Annual Young Anglers Inshore Fishing Tournament kicks off Saturday, May 25 at Hubbard's Marina at John's Pass. Children and teens are encouraged to pre-register, however, walk ups are welcome. Fishing time is between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. with weigh in from noon to 2 p.m. Entry fees are $15 for children 5 and under and $25 for ages 6 - 15. Paddle Against Cancer: More than 150 paddleboarders are expected to hit the water off Treasure Island for the 3rd annual "Paddle Against Cancer" to benefit Moffitt Cancer Center. Gene Evans, a Stage 4 kidney cancer survivor, created the event to promote the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle. The paddle begins at The Club at Treasure Island, 400 Treasure Island Causeway, where a poolside celebration will also take place, from noon to 4 p.m. Last year's event raised $21,000. Paddleboarders are asked to make a $30 minimum donation. The after party is free and open to the public. For more information check out the event on our calendar.

Bands on the Sand: Come out to the Bilmar Beach Resort on Saturday and Sunday for the annual Bands on the Sand weekend event. Music starts at noon and there's a fireworks finale at 8:50 p.m. Saturday night. The event is free, parking is $5. Be sure to bring a chair or towel and pick a spot.
Corey Fresh Market: You'll find specialty foods, flowers, plants, art and more on Sunday starting at 9 a.m. on Corey Avenue.
